Global summering
Transcript Panel 1.
Trudy and Caroline are talking to a young doctor on Zoom.
Doctor: As disgusting as it may be, the odds of your daughter catching COVID-19 from a mask that washed up on the sea are very low.
Trudy: That's good to hear.

Panel 2.
Doctor: Just keep an eye on her in case she has symptoms though. Now, there's one thing that concerns me more… You said you were on the nudist beach…

Panel 3.
Doctor: …in the middle of November?
Trudy: It was 14 degrees outside! When I was growing up, we called that 'summer'!

Notes: Yeah, I use Centigrade (Celsius). FWIW, 14 degrees Centigrade is about 57 F.
The Frysian marsh islands have a microclimate that gives them more hours of sunlight during the year than the mainland, but the temperatures are still lower. But even on the mainland, back when I was a pre-teen in the early 1980s, 16 degrees Centigrade was considered a perfectly good temperature for going to the outdoor pool, as long as there was sunlight and the water wasn't much colder than that.
With the island setting, the easiest thing would be to have an elderly village doctor but this guy is young. Even village doctors retire sometimes.

I lost basically all the time gains from making short strips over the past two weeks, just from being sick for a day, recovering, then having a busy week with multiple appointments, so instead of the full page I was hoping to do, I've gone back to more short strips until I do build a real buffer. This may take a while: the next few weeks are going to have some things going on that will definitely eat more of my free time.
I'm taking the opportunity to flesh out the cast a bit more, so here's the Doctor and some more new characters will be turning up in the next few weeks.

I think I see what you're going for here, and you make a very good point.

I would still prefer temperatures in the 20's before getting my ass on the beach... XD
